Hi Tony! Totally agree with you there. Two or three years is the perfect time to upgrade. Upgrading too fast may only net incremental upgrade, upgrading too long…it’s a cool feeling, like your mobile phone experience got a very nice extra boost, but may cost you comfort if you wait too long. My 5S is also still working fine. No complaints other than the battery life (but it’s already been 4 years old or so, so it’s acceptable).
It’s totally fine to get on with every upgrade, just like spending for a hobby! What matters is we spend money consciously for the stuff we love and won’t regret later on!
Hell we can always name several less wise stuff other than upgrading your phone. Like buying a special edition of a video game to get extra merch. It’s not economical, but it’s nice and makes whoever buys them happy, and the happiness (should be) worth it.
I guess it’s more about how much worth we put on our happiness against money.
Cheers, Tony!
